You Wanted Them, You Need Them and Here They Are:  Web 2.0 tools are a click away and YES, you CAN use them

Last year, we took a look at why Web 2.0 technologies are becoming such an important part of the workplace as well as had a quick tour of a number of "cool tools".  We also attempted to show how these tools can be used to create depth & resonance to your training.  Well, we are one more year further down the road and it's time to get cracking.

This presentation will once again make the point of the importance of incorporating collaboration into your training efforts and day-to-day operations. We might even get around to showing a cool Web 2.0 tool or two.  However, this time around we will demonstrate a state-supported suite of Web 2.0 tools that you can utilize now, GovSpace.  In addition to discussing the functionality, we will show you groups of state employees that are already using the software for collaboration.  It's not a far leap to see how GovSpace can be incorporated into your training efforts. GovSpace is still in its infancy here in the State and the utility of the software will grow as state workers and stakeholders register, participate, and add content.

Lastly, we'll take a look at a community that is further along in the collaborative developmental cycle.  That is, we'll show off, GovLoop, which is a community of nearly 7,000 individuals involved in government work.    How does 900 blog posts, 280 groups and forums threads sound?  The "wisdom of crowds" is in full bloom here and discussing GovLoop might give us an idea of what direction GovSpace could head toward.
